Meet the Owners

We’re Elmi and Leroy Martinez, the owners of the Frosted Flute Mobile Tap Truck. We bought the business in November 2025 and brought a second truck into the family in April 2026: Liza, a 2024 Piaggio Ape with six taps, who joins Bella, our vintage 1990 original. (Scroll down for Bella’s story!)

For us, this is a passion project built on service, hospitality, and community. We love bringing people together at weddings, birthdays, corporate events, and backyard gatherings, and we put a personal touch on every one. If you worked with the Frosted Flute before, we’re the same warm, family-run team.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Little Blue Piaggio Ape Direct from Italy to become The Frosted Flute Tap Truck

Bella’s Story

The little blue Piaggio Ape. Direct from Italy. The interior of the cab retains the beautiful blue color as an homage to its former life.

The Frosted Flute was started by Katy Morgan, a serial entrepreneur and the owner of KJ Designs Cookies. In 2020, she ordered a 1990 Piaggio Ape from Italy and waited seven long months, during the pandemic, for it to make the journey across the pond. After months of loving restoration of the cab, and the design and building of the tap box, Bella started rolling into events in 2022.

In 2024, former private chef Christi Flaherty and her husband Kyle, who had spent twenty years creating food and wine pairing events, were ready for a new adventure. When Christi saw Katy’s Facebook post about selling the little tap truck, she jumped at the chance. She had never heard of Katy or the Frosted Flute, but her love of all things Italian and her dream of owning a food truck business made her reach out. After one afternoon over coffee, Christi, Katy and Kyle knew this was a match made in heaven, and that Bella was going to a good home. In 2025, Bella found her next home with us, Elmi and Leroy Martinez, and in 2026 she was joined by her little sister, Liza.
